How to care for curly hair. I need major help please!!!?

i'm 14 years old and have an ongoing problem. my hair used to be straight and super easy to maintain, but ever since i turned ten it turned curly. i have no idea how to care for it yet!! its a hassle! i'll list my problems:

閳?tangles easily

閳?tangles look messy in hair

閳?washing hair takes out tangles but after 2 days hair is a mess again

閳?washing curly hair everyday is super bad but i feel its my only solution!

閳?2 days after i wash my hair the pretty curls have gone and the tangled bird's nest is back

I make my own conditioner. I use it once a week. I have really curly hair, and I had the same problem. Mix one egg with an avacoda, use the pit. Just grind the avacoda up and then mix it with the egg. Leave it in over night. Wash it out. Use once a week. I'll swear by it. My hair is shiny and bouncy and never tangles. And try Herbal Essence Curly Hair.

It's expensive, but I use Nexxus Humectrus Conditioner and it is excellent for curly hair.

I have wavy, sometimes curly hair that tangles easily too. I read about this solution in a magazine some years back, and have relied on it ever since.

Maybe it will work for you, too.

After I wash my hair I brush it back off my face with a wide toothed brush. I then put a medium sized blob of hair gel (I like L'Oreal Clean Gel or Mega Gel) in my hands - and rub my hands together.

I work the gel gently into my hair - then brush it again.

I then let it dry naturally. I try not to touch it too much when it's drying - or it gets frizzy. Sometimes after I put the gel in, I tie my hair back with a covered elastic to keep the wet hair off my shoulders.

That's it. Since I started doing that my hair never tangles anymore, and doesn't get frizzy.

Good luck sweetie. Hope this helps.

I used to have permed hair and have sold hair care products, so maybe I can help.

First, if you've never owned a pick, buy one. Don't use a brush on curly hair. It will just make it frizzier and takes away the defined curls.

If you blow dry your hair, buy a diffuser attachment. It helps with the frizz also.

Are you using a good conditioner as well with your shampoo? A good conditioner can do wonders (even on straight hair).

You're right; curly hair tends to be drier hair and does not benefit from daily washing. For your in between days, use a spray conditioner and comb it through to get it everywhere with your pick.

Look for styling products that help soften and define curls so they are more separated and not the tangled mess you're dealing with. (Coconut Oil Hair Shine and Define and No Frizz from The Body Shop and Frizz-Ease by John Frieda work well.) Use TINY amounts of these products. A little goes a very, very long way. Some are to be used on wet hair and blown dry or let dry naturally. Some are to be used on dry hair. Look around and see what you can find and what works for you.

That's all I can think of right now. Good luck.

Should i dye my hair blonde? and how?

I have colored my hair about 4 times. First was highlights. Second was light brown. Third was red. Fourth was black. I like change as u can see. I have dark brown hair and im kind of light skinned. Would it look right on me? I want to dye the top blonde and the bottom black how many girls have it. I want to do it myself at home so any suggestions would help. Also i tried dyin it a different color wen it was red but it didnt come out. Only the roots did. I have to do the decolor thingy i heard but on my friends hair it didnt work. Any suggestions besides goin to the salon to get it done? As u can probably tell im low on cash so yeah. How could i do all this?

Should i dye my hair blonde? and how?

i'd say dont do it because your hair has been through a lot already and bleaching the top could do some serious damage.

Like, you could lose all that hair. You have previously bleached hair under that color (from the highlights) if you put more bleach over those you are looking for trouble.

i would stick to darker colors and try not to do anything to lighten because that would involve bleach.

If you really REALLY want to then you would need to go to a salon to be safe. I don't recommend trying it though. sorry!

Should i dye my hair blonde? and how?

Just dye it a uniform color. like a dark auburn or something. I find girls who have blonde on top and black on the bottom to be a bit skanky. You could also give your hair rest an let it recover from all the coloring.

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

Okay so my hair is already pretty damaged. I deep condition it weekly and just got it cut and still lots of damage. I just have natrually freezy and poofy hair- so I have to straighten it alot which is SO bad for anyones hair!! Then I went and did a stupid thing and colored my hair black and it was blonde before.. it faded the first time so I recolored it the same color and guess what, its fading again! And I just don't want to do anymore damage to my hair.. I have to get the color out- It i bleach it myself it turns orange but then I was just going to put some dye on it that matches what I believe my natrual hair color use to be ( I havn't had my natural hair color in 7 years)

Any suggestions?

girl who just wants healty hair now-

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

Goodness girl...leave it alone! really, don't fix it yourself, get a good stylist to help you, especially since it is already so damaged. Why not wear it curly instead of straightening it all the time. Just condition your hair alot, then after you shower, use some gel, a little hairspray, and let air dry! It'll be great. There's also a book called curly girl that is a guide for all types of wavy/curly hair.

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

nope it wont work u should go to a salon and get ur hair stripped and that will make it back to ur natural color

I dyed my hair black, and now I want it out, is bleaching a good idea?

probably nott.... plus how would bleaching get the color out? wouldnt it be just putting more color in? bleaching is really damaging i heard.... so if you're looking to make ur hair more healthy, dont bleach it.

Curling hair?

im am going somewhere on x mas eve and i decided to curl my hair.

i wasent sure if i should use overnight curlers,

curlers, or a curling iron.

how should i do my hair?

i need help.

what can you do with

mini clear hair rubber elastic bands

brown bobby pins

40 small foam hair curlers

hair spray %26amp; gel

curling iron

blow dryer

and ribbon

Curling hair?

USE Small FOAM Overnight hair Curlers ! !

also try http://www.curlyhair.com

Curling hair?

curl ur hair overnight with the small foam hair curlers well at least as much as u can then go over it in the morning with the curler so the curls stay strong then put some hair spray in it

Curling hair?

do what xoxorose said and i think u should put it in a half ponytail with the ribbon when it is curled. that would look sooo cute!

Curling hair?

dont use curlers...they make your curls way too short and never turn out right, i suggest using a curling iron and curl bits at a time....looks much better

Frizzy hair???

Everyday when I get up and brush my hair, it gets frizzy. I hate it. I don't know why it does this, i use good shampoos and conditioners...i even bought a anti-frizz smoothing conditioner today...(yet to see how it works)...yet it gets frizzy everyday when i brush it...i even add a little water to my brush and that helps a little but not for long....The only way that it doesn't get frizzy at all is when I brush my hair after a shower when its still wet and blowdry it.

I have fine, long hair. I was thinking, is there any other way I can get my hair to NOT get frizzy?? Blowdrying and combing my LONG hair every night after a shower is time consuming, time that i usually don't have. Any help? THANKS.

Frizzy hair???

Use a wide tooth comb and don't wash your hair everyday. I curl iron lightly the frizzy parts.(I found that Finess works well for me.) I never blow dry my hair it makes it worse let it dry naturally put some light hairdressing on it when its still wet.

Frizzy hair???

if your hair is naturally curly it will just get frizzy when you brush it

Frizzy hair???

you could probably get a spray like a hairspray or gel and just put it on your frizz, or you can also straighten it down. the same thing happens to me and i hate it.

Frizzy hair???

LOREA'L GEL

IT WORKS GREAT 4 ME.

Frizzy hair???

Mine too hun. Try using Enjoy liquid spray. Also use some John Frieda products, I have thick and frizzy hair and it works great!!

Frizzy hair???

Don't brush your hair. Pick it. If you brush it it will get frizzy.

Frizzy hair???

maybe you should take a shower in the mornin and then at night to like i do

Frizzy hair???

herbal essence hair spray

good luck

Frizzy hair???

the only thing that works for me is to flat iron my hair.

Frizzy hair???

You could try to tame your hair by puting cap like things on my brother had this problem and this helped him

Frizzy hair???

if you use anti frizz moose after you shower it would reduce if not stop the fizz

good luck

(:

Frizzy hair???

put it in plaits or twists before you go t bed

your hair will be wavy not frizzy

put hairspray on your brush also

Frizzy hair???

either dont brush it as much(i know that sounds gross but it works) or put like mouse or hair stuff on it.

http://www.spaprivatelabel.com/proddetai...

this place has really good hair stuff. i would get something for frizz control.

---hope this helps =]

Frizzy hair???

did you try the john frieda anti-frizz serum? it's supposed to work wonders

Frizzy hair???

dont brush your hair

i have hair like yours

use a curl enchancing mousse or

HAIR STRAIGHTNERRRR

try to use mousse or hair serum.

try to use a conditoner thats moisturizing.

it works for me.

Frizzy hair???

I have really frizzy hair, too, but I found that putting a serum such as Garnier Sleek %26amp; Shine Leave-In Serum (see link below) in my hair while it's damp, before I blow dry it, helps a LOT. Leave-in conditioners work pretty well, too.

Frizzy hair???

cut all of your hair that will halp

Frizzy hair???

ghd striaghtners there the best cost about 鎷?00 but they r the best n last long, n dn't put water on ur hair when ur brushing it n try hair wax n stuff like that

Frizzy hair???

i have the same exact hair and problem as you

products: ausie 3 minute miracle

ideas:dont blowdry your hair towel dry it while you do your homework or something, once your hair is kind of dry but not to dry put it in a braid and keep it in when you go to be and take it out in the morning and then brush your hair! i dont now why but those tequnics always work for me!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!\oh yeah if you use hairspray STOP it only makes the frizzyness worse

Frizzy hair???

you have to stop brushing you hair. my hair is the same way. when you get out of the shower use a comb.

if you wanna wash your hair the night b4 flat iron it in the morning (chemical free) still us a comb. this works for me. is your hair curly? mine is. sometimes i use this cream, i put it in my hair when i get out of the shower. it is called Sunsilk defrizz in a green bottle . And it's not sticky. It's like 3 bucks. Then put some mousse in (not cheap mousse). and a little bit o hairspray and you should be good.

Frizzy hair???

Water accomplishes the OPPOSITE of calming frizzy hair, and I learned that the hard way. The water ends up evaporating and re-incarnating the frizz all over again.

I would have to say that the only thing keeping my frizz in control is a Corioliss hair straightener. Use it when your hair is bone dry. It's EASY, it smoothes and shines, and it removes all excess moisture from the hair without burning it. Retail it'll cost you $125-$200, but eBay it for roughly $60. It's worth it.

Tame minor frizzies with Frizz-Ease, but don't go crazy with that stuff.

Curly hair? Go with the mousse.

Frizzy hair???

hmm sounds like someone i know cough cough me. . . unfortunantly! but I don't know if you tried this yet but john frieda straight ahead. . Works wonders i swear. . Also try a hot oil treatment (like 50 cents) at beauty stores. I used that and it puts moisture back into hair. Also this is what i do every single time i take a shower.

Brush out hair

Apply anti frizz serum

Apply a light mouse

brush again

Put into pony tail

skip and inch put a pony tail holder around hair

keep going down the ponytail just like that

then sleep on it!

So much less frizz!

GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS HELPS!

best answer? =)

Perment Hair Straightneing from Boots, the Kit?

I am thinking of using the Boots Hair Straightning Kit the Perment one but i am really scared as i dnt know wah will happen to my hair

As it is Perment there is noting i can do about it if it all goes wrong

Also i read in a review it makes ur hair dry and when u wash it your hair smells of the perm thing

Also do you have to go to a salon to appliy it

Also do you have to be over a age to use it ( thinking of giving it to my cuz who is 12 )

But what happeneds if it all goes wrong, will my hair be ruinned

i am sory 4 all the questions but i am really scared even thought i wan 2 use it so badly

p.s when u use it do u use the hole pot or what

Perment Hair Straightneing from Boots, the Kit?

Ok, I got my hair professionally straightened in a salon.. Ok first. I would never do it with a home kit, because it's really strong and if you do it wrong you're hair can fall out. And I wouldnt do it, it was a waste of money. Just straighten your hair. But if youre dead set on it, it's like a perm it will only last as long as your hair takes to grow out.. But I got it done about 4 years ago and my hair is just getting to be as curly as it use to be.

Perment Hair Straightneing from Boots, the Kit?

If I was I wouldn't do at home because something could go wrong like u don't leave it in long enough and lots of other things could go wrong. just take to a salon and ask them will they do it for u.The reason u should take to a salon because the people there a trained to do perms(well some of them are) and if u do it at home u could damage your hair and make it fall out.So I would just take it to a salon so they can do for u. that way nothing will go wrong with.If u still don't want to use I would just go to salon and get a constants(spell?) and ask them what kind of perm do they recommit(spell?) for u to use and then buy and get it done their. After a girl gets her first cycle it is fine for her to get a perm never before.that's why some little girls hair falls out because they are too young to get a perm

Hair coloring question? Need advice or opinions!?

Until now, I've gotten my hair colored at a salon, but I'm trying to do it on my own.

Right now, it is a sort of light, golden brown with some faded subtle blonde highlights.

http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u178/...

(i am on the left, with the longer hair)

I want to go auburn. My mom bought me a box of dye (Garnier 100% Color in Mahogany Opalescent Brown), and it's a very beautiful color, but I'm worried about my hair turning purple, or something else going wrong...

http://garnier100color.garnier.ca/en/sha...

That is the box of dye I have.

Will the fact that I already have dyed hair change the results of the dye dramatically? (I can work with a bit of a difference than from what's on the box, but I don't want it to be too different)

My friend tried to dye her hair auburn and it turned out...very purple. How big are the chances of this happening to me?

Thanks in advance.

Hair coloring question? Need advice or opinions!?

it will be fine! don't worry about it!! :)

I dyed my hair that color, and it turned out AMAZING!!

x

Hair coloring question? Need advice or opinions!?

DO NOT USE A BOX COLOR.

take it from a cosmetologist. its the worst decision youcan make for the following reasons:

1.) its damn near impossible to remove from the hair if you ever decide to go lighter.

2.) your highlights may turn green, purple or muddy brown because they have no pigment in the hair.

3.) you haveto be careful with terms like "mahongany". its a dark color and could potentially be very dark if youre coloring over color.

please go back to your salon to get it professionally done because if it comes out terrible, color correction is a VERY expensive procedure.
